Faith at Loquat Valley

Overview
At Loquat Valley School the Bible is the foundation for our values, attitudes and actions.
The Christian beliefs and values taught are consistent with the Anglican tradition.
Students explore the Old Testament knowledge of God as creator, sovereign and sustainer, the one who persists in loving his people. They explore the words and life of Jesus in the New Testament and the purpose of his death and resurrection.
They learn respect for those of other faiths and backgrounds.
In the words of the School Prayer:
O Lord our God
Open our eyes to see what is beautiful
Open our minds to know what is true
Open our hearts to know what is good
Open our arms to care for one another
Through Jesus Christ, our Lord
Amen
Staff members promote the School’s values of love, care and respect for each student and actively teach and encourage respect between students.
Students attend regular Chapel services and participate in Christian studies.
Chapel
Chapel services are held regularly. They provide Christian teaching in ways that are relevant and enjoyable. Emphasis is placed on helping each child to make connections between what they learn and their experiences at school, home and in the community.
Christian Studies
Christian Education classes are held weekly and provide an opportunity for each student to learn more about God, what faith in Jesus Christ is about and how a Christian worldview provides a strong framework for ethical thinking and wrestling with life’s issues.
