Class Size
At Loquat Valley we work to ensure that each child is fully supported and encouraged to reach their potential.
Class size is one of the factors that attract many people to Loquat Valley. The average class size across the school is around twenty.
In addition to an excellent teacher-student ratio, Loquat Valley has extra teaching resources to ensure that each child’s unique learning journey can be supported. The Extension and Challenge (E & C) and Learning Support programs supplement the class teacher’s efforts, aiming to ensure that each child is challenged at the appropriate level and able to continue to work at their best level in their home classroom.
During specialist lessons, class teachers are free to focus on the specific needs of the students in their home class.
Specialist teachers trained in their specific subject areas also add value to the learning program in languages, art, music, information skills and physical education.
